Quick Answer

The short answers for Smith Valley: measures are booked in advance, custom orders take weeks to build, service work is much faster, and none of it needs to happen overnight. Longer answers to everything else are below.

  • Services: faux wood blinds, wood blinds, vertical blinds, aluminum mini blinds
  • Service area: Smith Valley, Johnson County, IN and surrounding areas
  • Nothing in window treatments needs a middle-of-the-night call-out. What matters is the fabrication window, typically two to five weeks. Service and repair work sits outside that and gets handled on a much shorter timeline.

I agree to be contacted by Smith Valley Window Treatments regarding my inquiry.

Smith Valley is named for an early settler, William K. Smith, and its post office ran from 1870 to 1902, while the houses in its neighborhoods date from 1967 and later. The oldest are one story brick houses in Bluff Acres, and Carefree adds ranches along with tri level and bi level plans from the early 1970s. Silver Springs and Eagle Trace hold brick ranches and large two story houses from 1989 to 2000, and Brookstone and Sheffield Park date from the mid and late 1990s. Wakefield and Walnut Woods carry finished lower levels into the early 2000s, and Lincoln Park is a 55+ community of ranches and patio homes. Lyons Park adds new ranches on Fry Road. Center Grove Community Schools serve the area, and most addresses read Greenwood 46142, though a few read 46143.

We keep the product list broad because rooms differ. On a single Smith Valley floor you might end up with cellular shades in the bedrooms for the insulating value, a solar shade in the living room to save the view, faux wood over the kitchen sink, and a woven wood in the dining room because it's the one room where texture matters more than function. That mix is normal and it's not indecision.

Warranties in this trade come from the manufacturer and they vary by line. Some carry a limited lifetime on the mechanism with much shorter terms on motors, batteries and fabric. Batteries are usually excluded entirely as a consumable. We register your Smith Valley product, we keep the documentation, and we handle the claim process with the manufacturer rather than handing you a phone number.

Built in the Last Few Years?

Many of our Smith Valley customers moved into a house built by one of these companies. Builder blinds are usually stock sizes trimmed to fit, so if yours came with the house and never ran right, that is why. We measure the openings as built rather than off the plan.

What We Are Running in Smith Valley Right Now

Both offers apply to work quoted and ordered while they are posted here. Ask about them at the in-home measure and we will put the discount on the written quote before you decide anything.

Offer 1

$500 Off Your First Exterior Screen, Plus a Free Motorization Upgrade

Take $500 off your first exterior screen and we will add the motorization upgrade at no charge. Exterior screens stop solar heat outside the glass, which is the only place you can stop it before it is already in the room, and a motor is the difference between using one and forgetting it.

Applies to a first exterior screen. Ask at the measure so the discount is on the written quote before you order. Motorized product runs on batteries that need replacing, about a year on Hunter Douglas PowerView.

Offer 2

Free Motorization Upgrade on Select Interior Shades

Pick from the qualifying interior shade lines and the motorization upgrade is free. It is worth most on the openings you would otherwise leave alone: tall great room glass, anything above a stair, and the west windows nobody remembers to close by four.

Select interior shade lines only. We will tell you at the measure which of your openings qualify. Batteries are a real running cost and are not included.

Equal Payment Plans

How We Handle Smith Valley Window Treatment

From one room to a whole house, Smith Valley Window Treatments measures every opening, orders it custom, and installs it with the same crew that took the measurements.

Faux Wood Blinds in Smith Valley

National figures put stock shades around $60 to $600 per window and custom treatments from about $250 to $2,600. Faux wood sits at the affordable end of custom, which is why it fills whole Smith Valley houses. We don't publish local installed pricing because nobody credibly can.

Learn more

Wood Blinds in Smith Valley

Bring the stain sample home and look at it on your own trim, at the hour you actually use the room. Showroom light lies. And while the blind slows fading on a Smith Valley floor, it won't stop it: NFRC puts UV at 40 to 60 percent of fading damage.

Learn more

Vertical Blinds in Smith Valley

Floors in settled Smith Valley houses aren't flat, and a patio door with a level track over an unlevel floor gives you vanes that touch on one end and float on the other. We measure at both ends and set the height off the high point.

Learn more

Aluminum Mini Blinds in Smith Valley

If there's a corded lift within reach of a child or a pet, replace it. Inner-cord non-compliance is a substantial product hazard under 16 CFR 1120.3, and a cordless aluminum blind costs a little more and removes the question from a Smith Valley nursery entirely.

Learn more

Roller Shades in Smith Valley

Custom roller shades for Smith Valley homes. Light filtering through blackout fabrics on a tube sized to the span, with cassette or fascia to hide the roll. Roll direction gets decided at the measure so the fabric never fouls a crank or a window lock.

Learn more

Solar Shades in Smith Valley

If the window belongs to a bedroom, this isn't your product. A solar shade is designed to pass light, and it'll pass it at six in the morning in June. For sleep in a Smith Valley bedroom, ask about blackout and let the solar shade cover the living space.

Learn more

Cellular Shades in Smith Valley

This is the one product with real published energy numbers behind it. DOE and ORNL testing measured up to 20 percent heating energy savings against a bare window, and up to 15 percent of total heating and cooling. A Smith Valley house carries both loads, so it's seeing both sides.

Learn more

Zebra Shades in Smith Valley

The thing to know before ordering: a zebra shade that isn't hung plumb won't line its bands up evenly across the width. Even the darkest tiers leak at the band seams, so a Smith Valley bedroom wanting true darkness is asking this product for something it can't do.

Learn more

Roman Shades in Smith Valley

Here's the disclosure that changes orders. A Roman raised fully doesn't disappear. It stacks, and the stack is deep on a lined shade. On a short Smith Valley window that stack covers the top of the glass, which is why we mount above the opening when we can.

Learn more

Woven Wood Shades in Smith Valley

There's no dye lot to match on a woven wood, which sounds like good news and isn't. Each run comes from different material. A second shade for a Smith Valley room a year later will be visibly its own thing, and no supplier will promise otherwise.

Learn more

Blackout Shades in Smith Valley

Blackout fabric costs more than light filtering in the same line, and channels or a light-blocking pocket add real money on top. On a Smith Valley bedroom it's usually the mount that costs more, not the fabric. Custom treatments nationally run about $250 to $2,600 per window.

Learn more

Plantation Shutters in Smith Valley

Against a blind, a shutter costs more and lasts longer, and it has no strings to fail. Against drapery, it gives up softness and gains permanence. In a Smith Valley house that's staying in the family, the shutter is usually the last treatment that window ever gets.

Learn more

Cafe Shutters in Smith Valley

The divide height is the whole design. We measure the Smith Valley opening and then decide where the panels stop, and that line should relate to something the window already does rather than landing at an arbitrary halfway point. It's decided standing in the room.

Learn more

Motorized Shades in Smith Valley

Indiana's Home Improvement Contract Act, IC 24-5-11, requires a written contract with a real scope on residential work over $150, and motorized jobs are where that matters most. Your Smith Valley paperwork names the motor, the power method, the fabric and who's setting the limits.

Learn more

Custom Drapery in Smith Valley

A print has to line up across panels, and on a wide Smith Valley window that means the workroom matching the repeat at every seam. It costs yardage. Skipping it is how you end up with a pattern that jumps a half inch at the joint and can't be unseen.

Learn more

Valances & Top Treatments in Smith Valley

Where you mount the treatment decides how tall the room feels. Setting the board near the ceiling instead of on the trim carries the eye up and makes a Smith Valley window read taller than it is, and that trick doesn't cost anything except a little extra fabric.

Learn more

Exterior Solar Shades in Smith Valley

Wind is what kills these, and it isn't sun. An exterior shade left down in a Smith Valley thunderstorm becomes a sail attached to your house, so every install gets a retract habit, and automated units get a wind sensor that overrides the schedule and takes the fabric up.

Learn more

Retractable Awnings in Smith Valley

Lighting built into the cassette changes how much a Smith Valley patio gets used, since the awning is already the thing spanning the space. It also means a power run to the mount, so if that's on the list we'd rather know before the brackets go up than after.

Learn more

Commercial Window Treatments in Smith Valley

Energy performance is a product attribute, not a company claim. DOE and ORNL testing found cellular shades saved up to 20 percent heating energy and up to 15 percent of total heating and cooling energy against a bare window, and that's worth knowing on a Smith Valley building with a large glass area.

Learn more

Skylight Shades in Smith Valley

Cost on overhead work climbs for reasons that have nothing to do with fabric. The motor, the tensioned track, a shape that isn't rectangular and the access needed to install it all add up, so a Smith Valley skylight quote sits well above a wall window of the same square area.

Learn more

Sliding Glass Door Blinds in Smith Valley

A west-facing patio door is usually the single largest heat load in a Smith Valley house, more glass than any two windows put together. That's what makes openness factor worth arguing about here, because a shade that cuts glare on this door changes how the whole room feels in July.

Learn more

Panel Track Blinds in Smith Valley

Panel fabrics cover more ground than most people expect: solar mesh with a stated openness factor, room darkening weaves, woven grasses and textured linens. A Smith Valley room can get glare control on one opening and near-darkness on another, and it's the same track system.

Learn more

Sheer Shades in Smith Valley

Vanes hold their shape for years, and then they don't. Repeated crushing at the top when the shade is raised will eventually soften the folds, so a Smith Valley shade that gets cycled several times a day ages faster than one that mostly stays put.

Learn more

Pleated Shades in Smith Valley

We offer repairs only on treatments The Window Valet installed or has serviced before. If we haven't worked on your treatments, we'll book a consultation for new ones. When a pleated shade fails, it's almost always the cord lock or a frayed lift cord rather than the fabric. That's usually repairable, so a Smith Valley homeowner with a shade that won't hold position should ask about a restring before assuming the whole treatment is finished.

Learn more

Bamboo Shades in Smith Valley

A solar shade keeps a sharp view and cuts heat with a stated openness factor. A bamboo shade doesn't do either of those with any precision, and it looks far better not doing them. If a Smith Valley window is fighting real afternoon glare, buy the solar shade and put the weave somewhere else.

Learn more

Dual Shades in Smith Valley

Sunlight works on the sheer bands hardest, since they're the thinnest part of the fabric. NFRC puts UV at 40 to 60 percent of fading damage, so a Smith Valley south window will show wear in the sheer sections before the opaque bands change at all.

Learn more

Top-Down Bottom-Up Shades in Smith Valley

Wide windows are harder here because both rails have to stay level across the span. A broad Smith Valley opening can show one rail slightly out of parallel, so past a certain width we'd split it into two shades under a shared headrail rather than push a single unit.

Learn more

Cordless Blinds in Smith Valley

Cordless lift punishes an opening that isn't square. If one side of a Smith Valley window sits a quarter inch off, the bottom rail rides crooked and the spring fights it the whole way. We take three width and three height readings at every opening and build to the tightest, so nothing binds.

Learn more

Hardwood Shutters in Smith Valley

Muggy season here runs from about the twenty-fifth of May into late September, and interior air swings along with it. Hardwood panels take on a little width in that stretch and give it back in winter, and that's why a Smith Valley shutter gets fitted with clearance rather than jammed tight into its frame.

Learn more

Composite Shutters in Smith Valley

In January, with daytime averages near 36F and overnight lows near 21F, the panel is doing simple work: a solid barrier and a still-air pocket between you and cold glass. It won't post the numbers DOE and ORNL recorded for cellular shades, but a Smith Valley room with the louvers shut feels different.

Learn more

Smart Home Shade Integration in Smith Valley

Range is a plan, and it isn't a hope. A signal that crosses an open great room can die going through a masonry wall or a stair core, so a Smith Valley system gets repeaters placed where the house actually needs them rather than where the box happened to ship.

Learn more

Blind Repair & Restring in Smith Valley

Sun is what ages a blind, and NFRC attributes 40 to 60 percent of fading damage to ultraviolet. A west-facing Smith Valley blind takes cord embrittlement and color shift on the same schedule, so when one blind in the house fails, the others on that exposure usually aren't far behind.

Learn more

Shutter Repair in Smith Valley

Hardware finish matters more than you'd think. Hinges age, and a new nickel hinge beside three that have dulled looks worse than the problem you started with, so on a visible Smith Valley panel we usually replace hinges as a set rather than one at a time.

Learn more

Motorization Retrofit in Smith Valley

The honest limit is the headrail. Some cellular and Roman systems have no motorized version at all and no way to add one, and no amount of ingenuity changes that. When that's what we find in a Smith Valley house, we say so and stop rather than improvising something that fails.

Learn more

Outdoor Patio Shades in Smith Valley

Pergolas need different hardware than porches do. With no ceiling to mount into, a Smith Valley pergola shade hangs from the beams themselves and needs tensioning that accounts for a structure that moves in wind. Sometimes the honest recommendation isn't overhead at all, it's a shade on the side.

Learn more

Office Window Treatments in Smith Valley

Landlords often set a base building standard. Many Smith Valley properties require a specific fabric and color on the exterior side so the elevation reads uniformly from the street, which means a tenant chooses the interior layer and not the outward face. We'll check the lease requirements first.

Learn more

Healthcare Window Treatments in Smith Valley

A window treatment supports facility policy, it doesn't replace it. Shades manage light, glare, heat and privacy at the glass, and everything about how a Smith Valley space is used, cleaned and monitored still belongs to the people running it. We spec to that policy rather than around it.

Learn more

Multifamily Window Treatments in Smith Valley

Plan the single-unit replacement path before you need it. A damaged shade in one Smith Valley apartment shouldn't require a building-wide reorder, so a spare quantity from the original run gets held on site and drawn down as the property uses it.

Local Expertise, Real Results

We'll build your Smith Valley window treatment plan around the openings in your own house.

Smith Valley Window Treatments does custom window coverings in Smith Valley for people who want the job done once. That means specifying for the room's real conditions rather than for a showroom, disclosing the things that annoy people later, and putting the whole scope in writing before taking a deposit anywhere in Johnson County. It's slower than the alternative and it produces far fewer arguments.

The service area covers Smith Valley from Wakefield and Sheffield Park, which sit close to Center Grove Middle School North, to Carefree and Lincoln Park on the east side and Lyons Park out on Fry Road. Bluff Acres and Eagle Trace carry Greenwood 46143 addresses on the Center Grove side of the ZIP line, while the rest of the neighborhoods read Greenwood 46142. A first visit is a measure appointment, which also covers sun exposure and basement windows, since finished lower levels are common here.

Your Smith Valley project starts with the rooms you want to change. We'll ask what isn't working at the windows and look at how the light moves through your house. Your in home design consultation is free. We'll look at your openings and talk through the rooms you're planning to cover. We offer repairs only on treatments The Window Valet installed or has serviced before. If we haven't worked on your treatments, we'll book a consultation for new ones.

Our Promise

We'll explain the mounting choice before you order for your Smith Valley home. If a product won't clear a handle or fit the available depth, we'll work through the options with you at the window.

Why Smith Valley Chooses Us

What Smith Valley Homeowners Should Ask Any Installer

Serving Smith Valley and Johnson County with quality materials, thorough inspections, and transparent pricing.

A plan based on the local housing

Half of Smith Valley's neighborhoods date from 1989 to 2001, and its houses stretch from 1967 brick houses in Bluff Acres to proposed 2026 ranches in Lyons Park, with finished basements common along the way.

Measurements for your own frames

We'll check each opening in your Smith Valley home and look at the room available for the hardware. If a window has been changed since the house was built, the plan needs to work with the frame that's there today.

Samples viewed in your rooms

We'll discuss the finish alongside your Smith Valley room's existing trim and furniture. The light at your own window helps you judge whether the fabric suits the space.

Our Process

How We Get From a Smith Valley Walkthrough to a Finished Install

Your Smith Valley window treatment project starts with a design visit. We'll work through the openings before the product is ordered, then plan installation around the confirmed order.

Discuss the rooms

We'll talk through what you'd like to change in your Smith Valley home and which rooms belong in the first phase. Your in home design consultation is free. We'll look at your openings and talk through the rooms you're planning to cover.

Measure the openings

We'll check the available mounting space and how the windows operate. Any recently replaced frames need to be measured in their finished condition.

Review the product plan

We'll discuss the fabric and the mounting arrangement before the order goes in. If an opening limits your first choice, we'll explain what that means for the treatment.

Confirm installation details

We'll confirm the order's installation plan and explain how to use the chosen treatments. Ask about access for maintenance if you're considering motorized shades.

Common Causes

What we see most often on Smith Valley window treatments

Smith Valley homeowners typically call us about these scenarios.

Shutters Whose Louvers Will Not Stay Put

They drift open under their own weight because the tension has relaxed after a few seasons of Indiana humidity swings. There's a tension adjustment designed for exactly this. It's a twenty minute visit and most owners assume their shutters are simply wearing out. Anybody who has lived with shutters for a few years should know the adjustment exists.

Glare On A Home Office Monitor

Since a lot of Smith Valley work happens at a desk at home, the afternoon sun landing across a screen has become a common reason to call. The answer is usually a darker solar shade at a lower openness rather than a room darkening fabric, because you want to keep working with the shade down rather than sitting in a cave.

Selling And The Windows Look Tired

We offer repairs only on treatments The Window Valet installed or has serviced before. If we haven't worked on your treatments, we'll book a consultation for new ones. Faded fabric, one broken lift and a valance clip missing. Buyers notice on a viewing even when they can't name what's wrong. A clean, an adjustment and one or two small repairs across a Smith Valley house is inexpensive and it removes an objection before anybody makes it. It's one of the cheapest things a seller can do before photographs are taken.

A Shade That Rubs And Has Worn

The opening narrows toward the bottom, the shade was measured at the top only, and now one edge of the fabric is fraying where it has been dragging for two years. Three widths at three heights prevents this entirely. Once the fabric is worn, it's a rebuild rather than an adjustment.

Nobody Explained The Light Gap

An inside mounted shade was installed and the customer can see daylight down both sides. Nothing is faulty. Lutron publishes inside-mount gaps of about three quarters of an inch per side on their roller systems, and taller shades get more. Had that been stated in writing before the order, the room would have been designed differently.

Motorized Shades That Have Gone Quiet

Nothing responds to the remote and the assumption is that the motors have failed. Usually the batteries are flat. Hunter Douglas states PowerView battery life is about one year and every wireless platform is close to that. It's the most under-disclosed running cost in this trade and it's the first thing we check.

How We Work

Five Stages, In This Order

Custom window treatments are made to your openings, so the order matters more than it does in most trades. This is how every Smith Valley job runs.

1

Free In-Home Measure

Every opening gets three widths, three heights and a diagonal square check, because houses settle and an opening that is out of square is the difference between a shade that runs true and one that binds. Mounting depth gets read at the jamb. It all goes on paper before any product conversation starts.

2

Product and Fabric, In Your Own Light

Samples get looked at in the room they are going in, not under showroom lighting. This is where openness factor, inside versus outside mount, roll direction and material get decided, and where we tell you the light gap you are going to live with.

3

Written Scope and Contract

Opening by opening, with the mount type, the light gap, the operation and the total price in writing. Indiana requires a written contract on residential work over $150 under IC 24-5-11, and we would write one anyway.

4

Custom Fabrication

Your sizes go to the workroom. Two to five weeks is typical depending on product and finish, longer on specialty shapes and motorized configurations. You get the real date at the measure rather than a range.

5

Install and Walkthrough

Brackets anchored for the substrate they are going into, everything checked level and square, motor travel limits set and scenes built with you standing there. Then we show you how it all works and take the packaging with us.

Justin came in with great energy that immediately made me feel comfortable. He was incredibly helpful, making sure I understood the options, what could be customized, and very transparent about cost. I ended up going with a combination of faux wood blinds and roller shades. I never felt sold something, he wanted to make sure that I got the product best for me."

Indiana sees some of the most varied weather in the country. Smith Valley homeowners live in IECC climate zone 5A, which carries a real cooling load in summer and a real heating load in winter. July averages a high near 85F, January averages a high near 36F with lows near 21F, and the muggy season runs from late May into late September. That is why the same window can be the hottest room in the house in July and the coldest in January.

Check the room at the hours you use it

Tell us when glare affects your Smith Valley room. We'll look at which window is responsible and discuss a treatment for that use of the space.

Review privacy after dark

A fabric that gives a daytime view may leave the room visible after dark. We'll discuss that difference before you choose a shade for an occupied room.

Keep working windows accessible

We'll check the treatment against the sash and the controls you use to open the window. The finished arrangement needs to let you operate both.

Connect the plan across a room

If you're covering several openings in one room, we'll discuss how the treatments look together. Each opening still gets its own measurements.

Choosing the Right Treatment for Smith Valley Rooms

An honest breakdown of the three we specify most often, and when each one is the right answer.

Cellular Shades

The one product in this trade with measured energy numbers behind it. Trapped air in the cells does the work, and DOE and ORNL testing found cellular shades saved up to 20 percent on heating energy and up to 15 percent on total heating and cooling against a bare window. In a Smith Valley house that matters in January and again in July, which is unusual for one product. Single cell suits most rooms, double cell where the glass is large or the room runs cold. Top-down bottom-up gets you daylight and privacy at the same time.

Both seasonsInsulating$$
Solar & Roller Shades

What you reach for when the complaint is afternoon sun. Solar fabrics come in stated openness factors, and that number is the whole decision: a lower openness cuts more glare and more of the view, a higher one keeps the view and cuts less. On a west or south Smith Valley window this is usually the honest answer rather than blackout, because blackout kills the room. Cassette or fascia hides the roll, and roll direction gets decided at the measure so the fabric does not foul a crank or a lock.

Glare controlKeeps the view$$$
Plantation Shutters

The one that stays with the house. Shutters are a finish rather than a covering, and they do not get replaced every few years. In Smith Valley the material choice is technical rather than a matter of taste: composite and poly in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and sunrooms, because a four month humid season followed by a dry heated winter will move real hardwood, and hardwood only where the room stays conditioned. Louver size, frame style and divider rail get decided standing at your window.

Light Control

See What Each Fabric Does To The Light

Pick a fabric below and the window updates. It's a drawing rather than a photograph, so read it as a rough guide to what each family does in a Smith Valley room, and to what it doesn't do.

Fabric type

Sheer, 10 percent openness

Ten percent of the weave is open, so you keep the view and most of the daylight. Glare drops a little. After dark, once your lamps are on, someone outside can read shapes through it, which is why this belongs on a view window rather than a bedroom.

Openness factor is printed on the fabric card, so you can compare one line against another before you order anything.

Keeps the viewNot private after dark

Solar, 5 percent openness

The usual pick for a west window or a covered porch. You can still read the yard through it, glare comes down noticeably, and the fabric intercepts a good share of the sun before it reaches you at four in the afternoon.

It also cuts the UV landing on floors and furniture. NFRC puts UV at roughly 40 to 60 percent of fading damage, so this slows fading rather than stopping it.

View and glare controlSlows fading

Solar, 3 percent openness

A tighter weave. The room goes dimmer and the view drops back to an outline. Choose it where the sun is the problem and the view is second, which around here usually means a west wall in July. That's a common call on this side of Indianapolis.

Openness affects how much you see out, not how private you are. A 3 percent fabric still shows silhouettes at night.

View becomes an outlineStrong glare control

Solar, 1 percent openness

Close to a solid fabric with a little view left in it. This is the strongest glare control in the solar family.

The trade is that it darkens the room on a gray January day too. Indianapolis averages a January high near 36F and the light is flat, so think about how the room reads in both seasons before you commit.

Darkest solar optionDim on gray days

Light filtering

No view through it. Daylight comes through the face diffused, so the room stays bright without a hot spot across the television or the kitchen island. This is the default for living spaces.

It isn't private in reverse at night. With the lamps on and the sun down, silhouettes still show.

No view through itBright without the glare

Room darkening

A denser fabric, usually with a liner behind it. Most of the light coming through the face is gone.

Light still arrives around the edges on an inside mount, so a room darkening shade gives you a dim room rather than a dark one. If someone in the house sleeps during the day, say so at the measure and we'll scope it differently.

Dim, not darkEdges stay bright

Blackout

The fabric itself passes essentially no light. What you'll still see is the perimeter. Lutron publishes an inside-mount light gap of about 3/4 inch per side on its Roller 20 and 64 shades, along with a standard factory deduction of 1/16 inch per side, and shades over 120 inches tall or past a 4:1 height-to-width ratio get larger gaps than that.

So if you need a genuinely dark bedroom, that gap has to be dealt with on purpose, either with side channels or by going outside mount. We tell you which one your opening can carry while we're still standing in the room.

Dark facePerimeter needs a plan

Openness factor is a measured fabric spec, so you can compare it line to line. The category names are not measured. One maker's room darkening can behave like another maker's light filtering, which is why the sample books come to the measure and get opened in the room they're going in, at the hour that room has the problem.

Eagle Trace is a neighborhood of 222 landscaped custom homes built from 1992 to 2000, about 1.4 miles southeast of Smith Valley's center point and about 1.9 miles northeast of Center Grove High School, with Greenwood 46143 addresses on streets such as Eagle Trace, Soaring Eagle Drive, Old Eagle Way and Bent Tree Lane. Lots run from about 0.4 to 0.8 acre, and the Bent Tree Lane cul de sacs have sidewalks and mature trees. The houses are large, with finished sizes between roughly 3,200 and 5,800 square feet, mostly two story custom plans with finished basements, along with one story ranches with finished basements from 2000 on Old Eagle Way, and monthly association dues go with most of the houses. The houses are a mix of brick ranches and two stories on lots of about 0.35 to 0.57 acre, with finished sizes from roughly 2,000 to 5,200 square feet, and many have finished basements, some of them walkouts. In ground pools sit behind a number of the houses, and Silver Hill Lane ends in a quiet cul de sac. Association dues go with the houses, and the neighborhood sits inside Center Grove Community Schools. View Silver Springs window treatment details →
Houses in Carefree date from the early 1970s, built between 1971 and 1975 on lots of about a third of an acre to just over half an acre. The neighborhood sits roughly 1.7 miles east northeast of Smith Valley's center point, and its streets include Nevermind Way, Tarry Court, Serenity Way, Restin Road, Leisure Lane, Meander Way and Shady Lane, names that match the neighborhood's own. Curving streets and mature trees set the look, and the housing mix runs from ranches to tri levels, bi levels and two stories. Finished sizes run from about 1,560 to 2,300 square feet. The addresses read Greenwood 46142, and a community pool, playground, tennis courts and clubhouse serve the neighborhood, with dues that apply on some streets and not on others. View Carefree window treatment details →
Wakefield sits about half a mile northwest of Smith Valley's center point on Wakefield Drive East and Wakefield Drive North, with Greenwood 46142 addresses, and Center Grove Middle School North is three tenths to five tenths of a mile away. The neighborhood was platted in sections, with Section 2 and Section 3 houses dating from 1998 to 2001. The houses are two story plans with finished basements, from about 2,600 to 4,450 square feet, on lots of 0.36 and 0.40 acre, some on corner lots in quiet cul de sacs with fenced yards. A park and playground sit inside the neighborhood, and an annual association charge goes with the houses, so Wakefield reads as a settled late-1990s subdivision close to the schools. View Wakefield window treatment details →
Brookstone is a neighborhood of one story ranches built from 1995 to 1997, about 1.5 miles north northwest of Smith Valley's center point on Red Stone Lane and Brookstone Lane, with Greenwood 46142 addresses. The plat runs in sections, and the lots measure about 0.34 acre. Center Grove Middle School North is 0.7 to 0.9 mile away. Finished sizes run from about 1,600 square feet on the main level to roughly 2,600 with a finished basement, and the ranches are custom plans, some in all brick. In ground pools, decks with a gazebo and tree lines with no rear neighbors show up behind the houses, and an annual association charge goes with them, which keeps the entrance and common ground maintained. View Brookstone window treatment details →
Sheffield Park lies about a third of a mile north northeast of Smith Valley's center point, which makes it one of the closest neighborhoods to the community's center, on Aquaduct Drive with Greenwood 46142 addresses. The plat was recorded in sections, and the houses are two story plans on 0.33-acre lots, built in 1997 and 1998. Center Grove Middle School North sits half a mile away. Finished sizes run from about 2,300 to 3,600 square feet, with full finished basements under the larger houses and cathedral and tray ceilings in the smaller ones, and covered front porches face the street. Association dues apply on some houses and not on others, and Wakefield lies just to the west across the neighborhood line. View Sheffield Park window treatment details →
Walnut Woods sits on Sugar Maple Court, about 1.4 miles east of Smith Valley's center point, with Greenwood 46142 addresses. The houses on the cul de sac were built in 2002 in the first section of the plat, and they're large, with sizes of about 3,100 to 3,800 square feet on lots of 0.31 to 0.37 acre, each with a finished lower level. One story plans and one and a-half story plans with a two story foyer share the court, and yards hold basketball courts, fire pits and wrought iron fencing. Semiannual association dues go with the houses, and Carefree lies about a third of a mile to the northeast, with Eagle Trace roughly eight tenths of a mile south. View Walnut Woods window treatment details →
Lincoln Park is a 55+ community about 2.5 miles northeast of Smith Valley's center point, roughly a mile and a third north of the Carefree streets, with Greenwood 46142 addresses on Lincoln Park West Drive, Lincoln Park Boulevard and Meridian Meadows Road. Its houses date from 2002 and 2003, one story brick houses, patio homes and one and a-half story plans with a finished lower level, on lots of about 0.22 to 0.28 acre. Main level sizes run from about 1,200 to 2,050 square feet. A clubhouse hosts a calendar of neighborhood activities, sidewalks line the lots, and the association's covenants and restrictions go with the age rule, so the community keeps a uniform look from one street to the next. View Lincoln Park window treatment details →
